City-Led
Civic weight meets grassroots energy
Pillar 1
BUILD BELIEF INTO THE ENVIRONMENT
Make belief visible across physical and digital spaces so that anyone walking, driving, or living in your city encounters it. The flagship initiative is the Road Signs of Belief: official road signs that say things like "WE BELIEVE IN YOU" on actual city streets.
- Road Signs of Belief on city streets and roadways
- Belief signage in parks, libraries, and civic buildings
- Belief messaging at city entry signs and on city channels
- Visible commitment from city leadership
Pillar 2
HELP PEOPLE INVEST BELIEF IN EACH OTHER
Belief signs matter, but a city comes alive when people show up for one another personally. The primary vehicle for this is local chapters: groups of people who take belief-driven action in community. Cities support, sponsor, and partner with chapters to make this happen at scale.
- Support and sponsor local Show Me A Sign chapters
- Host belief events where people encourage one another
- Create citywide recognition for belief-driven individuals
- Partner with schools and businesses to amplify reach
Congratulations on becoming an official Believer City! A Believer City focuses on two things: making belief visible in the environment, and helping people actively invest belief in one another. Here's how to build momentum on both fronts from day one.
Week 1: Get Established
- Complete your city profile with a compelling description and logo
- Identify your core team and decide who will champion this internally
- Share your city's approval on social media and tag your community leaders
- Schedule an internal kickoff meeting with key stakeholders
- Log your first city action to start building your record
Month 1: Build Your Foundation
- Place signs of belief in high-visibility city locations (Pillar 1)
- Begin exploring Road Signs of Belief approval with public works or transportation (Pillar 1)
- Identify a local chapter to partner with or sponsor (Pillar 2)
- Plan your first community belief event (Pillar 2)
- Set a 90-day goal for actions, events, and community reach
Pillar 1 priority: The single most impactful thing a city can do for the first pillar is pursue official Road Signs of Belief on public streets. Start the conversation with your transportation or public works department early. Even if it takes time to approve, the pursuit signals serious commitment.
Pillar 2 priority: The most direct way to advance personal belief investment is to find, sponsor, or help start a local chapter. Chapters are the engine that turns city-level belief into individual human moments.
