Our story, live impact data, media coverage, and everything you need to tell the world about Show Me A Sign.
About the Movement
The purpose of Show Me A Sign is to invest belief at scale, in the potential of others to be a force for good.
Years ago, I started something that felt radical to me. Something that pushed me far outside my comfort zone. I began carrying a sign on my runs that read, "I BELIEVE IN YOU." Since then, I've spent years witnessing firsthand how that simple phrase can change lives for the better.
I believe that investing belief in the potential of others is one of the most powerful ways to create lasting positive change. Show Me A Sign exists to scale that belief across the world.
We do it in two ways:
PEOPLE
We invest belief with structured and measurable practices we call "Show Me" Actions. Running is only one of many actions that give individuals and groups practical ways to encourage others in visible, meaningful and measurable ways.
ENVIRONMENT
By embedding The Language of Belief into the places people live, work, learn, and move through every day. Whether through messages in or on buildings, or Road Signs of Belief, the goal is to make encouragement more present, more visible, and more woven into daily life.
They work together to create a culture where people are more often reminded of their value, their potential, and their responsibility to be a force for good.
That is what makes Show Me A Sign scalable. It creates ways for everyone to participate. People from every walk of life, and organizations that want to help call out the best in others.
And of course we don't neglect the people that make this all possible. We provide to help Believers stay in a healthy, grounded, and intentional state so they can keep investing belief in others. It is a practical tool people can return to for perspective, encouragement, and guidance, making sure they have what they need not just to believe well, but to live it consistently.

Founder

Ben Lyne (Runner Guy With A Sign)
Founder & Executive Director
Ben Lyne started running with a sign in 2022 in Eagle Mountain, Utah, after years of feeling the pull to do something to uplift the people he passed on his daily runs. Armed with a homemade sign reading "I BELIEVE IN YOU," he began running through neighborhoods and highways, holding the sign up to passing cars. The reactions were immediate and overwhelming: honks, waves, tears, and smiles. One encounter changed everything: a person told Ben that seeing his sign saved their life. That moment helped transform a personal project into a life mission. Today, Show Me A Sign is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with chapters across the country, each carrying forward the simple but powerful message that belief can change lives.
"Someone told me that my sign saved their life. In that moment, I knew this wasn't just about running with a sign, it was about showing people they have the potential to be amazing. That's what Show Me A Sign is all about."
- Ben Lyne
