Everything you need to know about Show Me A Sign, chapters, actions, and getting involved.
Visit our "Become a Believer" page and choose the path that fits you best: individual, business, school or youth organization, or city/government entity. If you're joining as an individual, you'll create a free account and you're in! No fees, no prerequisites; just a willingness to believe in others.
Sign up as a Believer, then apply to start a chapter from your dashboard. We review every application personally. Chapters are the heartbeat of Show Me A Sign. They're local groups of believers who organize events, hold signs, and spread encouragement in their community.
Signs can be ordered through our website in our store. You can also design your own custom belief sign using our built-in Sign Designer tool available in your dashboard, which lets you create personalized signs to print or display digitally.
Yes! Show Me A Sign is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our EIN is available upon request.
No. Becoming a Believer and joining a chapter is completely free. We believe encouragement should never have a price tag. We fund our operations through donations, sponsorships, and merchandise sales.
A chapter is a local group of Believers who organize and carry out acts of belief in their community. Each chapter has a leader (or co-leaders) who coordinate events like sign runs, sign holds, and belief bombs. Chapters can be based in neighborhoods, schools, churches, workplaces, or anywhere people gather.
You can start a chapter with just yourself! While it helps to have a few people interested, we don't require a minimum number of members to apply. Many chapters start with one passionate person and grow naturally through events and word of mouth.
Absolutely! Visit our Chapters page to browse active chapters and find one near you. Each chapter page has a "Join" button that sends a request to the chapter leader. You can also attend chapter events as a guest before officially joining.
Chapter leaders organize events, approve member actions, manage their roster, and serve as the point of contact for their local community. They also have access to chapter analytics and can track their group's impact over time. It's a rewarding role and you get to see the direct effect of belief in your community.
Once you're signed in, visit "Log Action" from your dashboard. Pick the action type (like Sign Run or Belief Bomb), add details about what you did, and submit.
Belief Levels are a progression system that recognizes your commitment to spreading belief. As you log actions and earn points, you advance through six levels: "I Want to Believe," "I Believe in Tomorrow," "I Believe in You," "I Believe in Me," "I Believe in Us," and "I Believe in Miracles." Each level unlocks new recognition. Chapters have their own parallel Belief Levels too!
"Show Me" Actions are the real-world, measurable ways we turn belief into action. They fall into two categories: Sign Actions (like Sign Runs, Sign Walks, and Sign Holds where you physically hold or display signs of encouragement) and Belief Actions (like Belief Bombs, Belief Socials, Belief Messages, Belief Dares, and Belief Mentorships). Each action has a point value and contributes to your Belief Level.
Every month, the leaderboard resets. Believers and chapters compete to earn the most points through logged actions. At the end of each month, the top 3 individuals and top 3 chapters receive physical awards mailed to them. Your all-time points and Belief Level never reset, only the monthly competition standings.
Yes! Many actions can be logged as personal actions, things like Sign Walks, Sign Runs, Belief Bombs, Belief Messages, and Belief Socials. You don't need to be at a chapter event to make an impact. Every individual act of belief counts.
A Believer School is a school that has formally partnered with Show Me A Sign to embed belief into the school's daily culture. It goes beyond having a student chapter, it means the entire school adopts the Believer framework, with visible signs throughout campus, student-led belief initiatives, school-wide participation tracking, and measurable culture data for administrators. A Believer School changes the emotional environment of the building itself.
A school with a chapter has a student club that participates in Show Me A Sign activities, similar to any after-school organization. It's student-run and optional. A Believer School, on the other hand, is a school-wide commitment. The administration, teachers, and students all participate. Signs are visible throughout the building, belief is woven into the daily experience, and the school tracks participation and culture metrics. Think of a chapter as a club within a school; a Believer School is the school itself becoming part of the movement.
Contact us through our Believer School page or reach out directly. We'll walk your administration through the process, explain what it looks like in practice, and help you set up everything from signage to student leadership roles to tracking tools. There's no cost to become a Believer School.
Yes! Any student can apply to start a chapter at their school. This works like any student club, it's a group of students who organize belief activities together. The school doesn't need to formally partner with us for students to participate. Many Believer Schools actually started as student-led chapters that grew into something the whole school wanted to be part of.
No. A Believer School doesn't add lessons, curriculum, or grading responsibilities. Students lead the activities, and the framework is designed to operate alongside existing school programs without adding pressure to staff. Teachers benefit from the improved culture without being asked to carry additional weight.
Absolutely! Visit our "Become a Believer" page and choose the option that fits: individual, business, city, or school. Businesses can become Believer Businesses, which puts them on our Believer Business Map. Schools can start chapters or become full Believer Schools.
A Believer Business is a local business that has partnered with Show Me A Sign to display signs of belief, support their local chapter, and show their community that they stand for encouragement. Believer Businesses appear on our public Believer Organization Map and receive a Believer Business kit with signage and materials.
Cities can partner with Show Me A Sign to bring belief initiatives to the community at a civic level. This can include proclamations, city-wide events, sign installations in public spaces, and partnerships with local chapters. Visit our "Become a Believer City" page to learn more, sign up or get in touch.
Yes! You can sponsor a chapter directly through our Donate page. Chapter sponsorships help cover the cost of signs, event supplies, and local outreach. When you sponsor a chapter, you'll receive updates on their impact and how your contribution is making a difference.
Donations fund everything from sign production and chapter support to event coordination and technology development. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our community to keep the movement growing. Every dollar goes directly toward making belief visible in more communities.
We personally read every message. Don't hesitate to reach out.
