By accessing or using the Show Me A Sign website and services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Show Me A Sign is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing suicide and promoting mental health awareness by making belief visible in communities across the country. Our Services include:

• Believer registration and account management
• Sign Actions — sign walks, sign runs, and sign lines where participants hold encouraging signs in public
• Belief Actions — belief bombs, social media campaigns, mentorship, and other acts of spreading hope
• A points-based gamification system with Belief Levels that track individual and chapter progress
• Chapter management for school, business, and city-based chapters
• Monthly leaderboards and competitions for individuals and chapters
• Event coordination, donation processing, and community resources

Creating an account requires accepting the Believer Pledge, which is a commitment to never post, comment, or send a direct message containing negative, critical, or harmful content online. By accepting the pledge, you agree to:

• Resolve conflicts directly and privately with individuals rather than publicly online
• Be a force for encouragement and hope in your community
• Uphold the values of the Show Me A Sign movement in your online and offline conduct

Violation of the Believer Pledge may result in suspension or termination of your account at our discretion.

To use certain features of our Services, you must register for an account. By registering, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years of age
• All information you provide is accurate, current, and complete
• You will maintain the accuracy of such information
• You will keep your password secure and confidential
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You will notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

For users under 18, parental or guardian consent is required for participation in certain activities, especially for school-based chapters.

You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
• Transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state your affiliation with any person or entity
• Submit false action logs or misrepresent your participation in Believer Actions
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services or networks connected to the Services
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Services
• Use the Services for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
• Collect or harvest any personally identifiable information from the Services without consent

Our gamification system awards points for logged Believer Actions. By participating, you agree that:

• You will only log actions that you actually performed
• Bystander counts, distances, and other reported data must be accurate and made in good faith
• Points and Belief Levels are for community recognition purposes and have no monetary value
• We reserve the right to review, adjust, or remove points for actions that appear fraudulent or violate our guidelines
• Monthly leaderboard standings are calculated based on points earned within each calendar month
• We may update the points system, Belief Level thresholds, or badge criteria at any time

If you apply to start a chapter:

• You must provide accurate information about your school, organization, or community group
• Applications are subject to approval by Show Me A Sign administrators
• Approved chapters must comply with our chapter guidelines, policies, and code of conduct
• Chapter leaders are responsible for the conduct of their chapter members during chapter activities
• We reserve the right to revoke chapter status for violations of these Terms or chapter policies
• Chapters may not use the Show Me A Sign name or branding without authorization
• School-based chapters must have appropriate adult supervision and school approval

Participation in Show Me A Sign events is subject to the following:

• Event registration does not guarantee attendance; events may be canceled or rescheduled
• Participants must follow all event rules, safety guidelines, and organizer instructions
• Minors must have parental or guardian consent and appropriate supervision
• We may photograph or record events for promotional purposes; by attending, you consent to such use
• We reserve the right to remove any participant who violates event rules or engages in disruptive behavior

All donations and payments are subject to the following terms:

• Donations are voluntary and non-refundable unless required by law
• Donations are processed securely through our third-party payment processor (Stripe)
• You are responsible for providing accurate payment information
• Donations may be tax-deductible as Show Me A Sign is a nonprofit organization; consult your tax advisor for details
• We will provide donation receipts for tax purposes as required by law
• Prices are subject to change without notice

If you opt in to receive text messages during registration, you agree to the following SMS terms:

• You consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Show Me A Sign at the phone number provided
• Message frequency varies
• Standard message and data rates may apply
• Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe
• Reply HELP for assistance
• Consent to SMS is not a condition of any purchase or account creation

You may submit content such as impact stories, testimonials, photos, and comments ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

• Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content for promotional and operational purposes
• Represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit the User Content
• Warrant that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws
• Understand that we may edit, remove, or refuse to publish any User Content at our discretion
• Acknowledge that User Content may be publicly visible on our website and social media

All content on the Services, including text, graphics, logos, images, videos, and software, is the property of Show Me A Sign or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, modify, or distribute any content from the Services without our express written permission.

The Show Me A Sign name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of Show Me A Sign. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.

Limitation of Liability:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Show Me A Sign and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Services.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Show Me A Sign and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of another person or entity.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. Termination does not relieve you of any obligations incurred prior to termination.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which Show Me A Sign is headquartered, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Show Me A Sign regarding the use of the Services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
